Elma Digital Ltd ("Elma Digital," "we," "us," or "our") built and operates Timestamp — Photo Date Stamp (the "App"), and this website. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App and this website collect, how it's used, and who it's shared with.

The short version

Your photos are stamped entirely on your device and never leave it. Timestamp doesn't require an account and doesn't operate a backend server that stores your photos. The App uses anonymous usage analytics to understand how it's used, and the free version shows ads. Ads are only personalized if you agree: in regions where it's required, through Google's consent form, and on every device, through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. The sections below cover the specifics.

Information We Collect

Photos and camera

To stamp a photo, the App asks for permission to access your camera and photo library, using these exact system prompts:

• Camera: "Photo Date Stamp needs access to your camera to take photos and add date stamps."
• Photo Library: "Photo Date Stamp needs access to your photo library to select photos for stamping and to save stamped photos."
• Save to Photo Library: "Photo Date Stamp needs permission to save stamped photos to your library."

All date-stamping happens locally on your device using iOS's on-device image rendering. Stamped photos are saved as new copies to your photo library — your originals are never modified. Elma Digital does not receive, upload, or store copies of your photos on any server.

Account information

Timestamp does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide your name, email address, or any other personal registration information to use the App.

Subscription and purchase information

Timestamp offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions (weekly and yearly). Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through your Apple ID — Elma Digital never sees or stores your payment card details. To manage active subscriptions and unlock premium features, the App uses RevenueCat, a third-party subscription management service, which receives an anonymous, app-generated identifier along with purchase and subscription-status metadata (such as which product was purchased, whether it started as a free trial, and when it renews). RevenueCat's own privacy practices are described at revenuecat.com/privacy.

Alongside that anonymous identifier, RevenueCat also receives your answer to the optional usage question (see below), a rounded indication of how much you use the App, and — if you installed the App from an Apple Search Ads advertisement — the campaign information Apple provides through its AdServices framework. This helps us understand which kinds of users and campaigns lead to subscriptions. Apple's AdServices attribution does not use your advertising identifier and does not require tracking permission.

Usage analytics

To understand how the App is used — for example, where people get stuck, which features they use, and whether changes help — the App sends anonymous usage events to TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service. These events describe actions in the App, such as opening the camera, saving photos (as rounded counts), viewing the subscription screen, or starting a free trial, together with general context: app version, device type, iOS version, language, region and App Store country, and whether you are a subscriber.

TelemetryDeck identifies a device only by an anonymized identifier that is generated on the device using a one-way hash, so the data cannot be traced back to you by us. It does not include your name, your photos, anything you type, your precise location, or your advertising identifier, and it is not used for advertising or tracking. TelemetryDeck's own privacy practices are described at telemetrydeck.com/privacy.

Optional usage question

After you save photos, the App may ask one optional question: what you mainly use Timestamp for (for example, family memories, travel, proof for work, or personal records), with a short follow-up if you choose work. Answering is entirely optional — you can skip it, and you can change or give your answer anytime in the App under Settings → About you → Main use. The answer is chosen from a fixed list (there is no free-text field) and is used to understand who uses the App and what to improve. It is stored on your device and shared, without your name, with TelemetryDeck and RevenueCat as described above.

Information kept on your device

The App keeps some information on your device to work properly and to decide what to show you — for example, how many photos you've saved, your stamp settings, your answer to the usage question, and how many free photos you have left. This information stays on your device unless it is described elsewhere in this policy.

Advertising

The free version of Timestamp shows optional rewarded ads (to unlock extra stamped photos or themes) and, occasionally, interstitial ads, served through Google AdMob (part of Google's Mobile Ads SDK). Serving these ads may involve Google collecting technical and device information — such as device type, operating system version, and general (non-precise) location — under Google's own privacy practices, described at policies.google.com/privacy. Premium subscribers do not see any ads.

Consent in the EEA, UK, and other regions where it's required. Before any ads are requested, the App uses Google's certified consent management platform (Google's User Messaging Platform) to ask whether your data may be used for personalized ads. You can review or change your choice anytime in the App under Settings → Ad Privacy Options.

App Tracking Transparency. After you save your first photos, the App shows Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt asking whether it may track you. If you allow it, Google may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) to personalize and measure ads across other companies' apps and websites. If you don't allow it, the IDFA is not accessed, and you may still see ads that are not personalized. You can change this anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

"Our Apps" feature

The App's "Our Apps" screen fetches a public list of Elma Digital's other App Store listings using Apple's public iTunes Lookup API. This is a simple public catalogue request — no information about you or your device is included in it.

Diagnostic data

Like all apps distributed through the App Store, Timestamp may generate standard crash and performance diagnostics that Apple makes available to developers through App Store Connect. This aggregated data is not linked to your identity by us and is used only to catch and fix bugs.

How We Use Information

• To provide the App's core stamping, theming, and batch-processing features
• To manage and verify your subscription entitlements (via RevenueCat and Apple)
• To display ads to free-tier users (via Google AdMob), with your consent where required, and unlock rewards when you choose to watch one
• To understand, through anonymous analytics and the optional usage question, how the App is used and what to improve
• To understand which kinds of users and advertising campaigns lead to subscriptions
• To diagnose crashes and improve app stability

Who We Share Information With

We don't sell your information. The only parties information passes through are the service providers described above, each acting under their own privacy policy:

• Apple Inc. — App Store distribution, payments, platform-level diagnostics, and Apple Search Ads attribution
• RevenueCat, Inc. — subscription and entitlement management, and subscription analytics
• Google LLC (AdMob) — ad serving for free-tier users and ad-consent management
• TelemetryDeck — anonymous usage analytics

Like any online service, these providers receive your device's IP address when the App connects to them. Elma Digital does not receive or store it.

Data Retention

Because photos are processed and stored only on your device, Elma Digital does not retain copies of your photos at all. Subscription and entitlement records, and the information sent with them, are retained by RevenueCat and Apple according to their own retention practices, for as long as needed to manage your subscription and resolve support or billing questions. Anonymous usage analytics are retained by TelemetryDeck according to its own retention practices. Information kept on your device is removed when you delete the App.

Your Choices

• Camera and Photo Library access can be granted, denied, or revoked anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security.
• Permission to track can be changed anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
• In regions where ad consent is required, your ad consent can be reviewed or changed in the App under Settings → Ad Privacy Options.
• The usage question is optional; you can skip it, or give or change your answer under Settings → About you → Main use.
• Subscriptions can be reviewed, changed, or canceled anytime in iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions.
• Ad personalization can be limited in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising and through Google's own ad settings at adssettings.google.com.

Children's Privacy

Timestamp is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us using the details below and we'll address it.

International Users

Because Timestamp relies on Apple, RevenueCat, Google, and TelemetryDeck as described above, information may be processed in countries other than the one you're using the App in, subject to each provider's own safeguards.

Changes to This Policy

If this Privacy Policy changes, we'll update it here and revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
